The Helsinki's hairiest rock'n'roll group Electric Monk has finally finished their second full-length album. "Hanging Loose" will be released in Finland in late September by Puuma Records / Running Moose Productions.

"Hanging Loose" is a 42-minute dose of an honest, brutal and traditional rock'n'roll rambling in the footsteps of The Who, Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. Just like the debut album "Hair Of The Dog" released in 2007, "Hanging Loose" contains songs with a wide range of styles: from the unemployment-themed title track, to piano-flavoured boogie woogie of "Ship of Fools" and to the album-ending slow and sombre "Blues".

The band's sonic boundaries have opened up since the debut, thanks to trombone- & mandolin-player Ville Nissinen who is now a full member of the band. Some evidence of folk influences can be found in the balkan-groove of "The Key" and in the wedding waltz "Fragile Heart", also spiced up by the accordion of Olli Rautiainen.

Thematically, "Hanging Loose" picks up where the debut left: the search for a meaningful purpose of existence in the mad, mad modern world. And this far, the orchestra has already offered it to its members: since the beginning in 2004, three self-produced EP's, two full-lenght albums, and over 200 gigs have kept the musicians out of mischief.

And the quest goes on: Electric Monk are getting ready to spend the autumn and winter playing gigs around the Finland - and getting their asses finally abroad too!
